ADDISON TOWNSHIP APPROVES REFERENDA FOR THE APRIL ELECTION

Addison Township Supervisor Dennis Reboletti and the Township Board of Trustees have unanimously approved two advisory referendums.

“The approval presents a key opportunity for Addison Township voters to shape the future of their state.” Said Reboletti. “This is a chance for our community to voice their opinions to their elected officials and Springfield.”

Per Illinois law, the Township Board of Trustees deemed the following questions in the best interests of Addison Township voters:

  • Resolution TR-2025-1: Whether the State of Illinois be allowed to force unfunded mandates on local governments, who may raise property taxes to cover the costs of those mandates.
  • Resolution TR-2025-02: Whether the State of Illinois create an independent citizens commission to draw fair and competitive federal and state redistricting maps, rather than allowing lawmakers to decide.

The questions will be part of the ballot for the consolidated election set to take place on April 1, 2025.
